Hiroshima and Miyajima in one port day

Compare the city’s peace heritage with a Miyajima visit before choosing a route that fits the ship’s published time.

Planning guidance from YAGI · Updated 29 September 2026

Choose a city day or an island combination

Tell us whether Hiroshima’s peace heritage or Miyajima is your main priority. Combining the two depends on the ship’s time in port, transfers and how long you want at each stop. A city-focused plan may be a better fit for a shorter call or a slower pace.

Include the island connection in your timing

Miyajima access involves a boat connection. The tourism association’s official access page links the available routes and operators. Allow for getting to the pier, boarding, the crossing and the return connection—not just the time on the boat. Timetables and operating conditions need checking for your date.

Discuss access before confirming

Let us know about wheelchair dimensions, step-free needs and preferred walking distance. The written proposal should identify the transfer plan, included admissions and any optional costs. Do not assume every combination shown in destination photos fits every ship’s call.
